Back in Sweden
I have decided this will be a new space for my journaling. I used to blog for many years when I was a teenager and have actually really missed it. Those who have followed my journey on Instagram, or have read my bio, know that I am extremely passionate about birth. I have truly found my calling in life and love what I do. Supporting expectant parents, birthing couples, and nervous new parents are all environments I am incredibly comfortable in. After running my own business and being a full-time birth doula in Portland, Oregon, I fell even more in love with the work, but found very little time for my relationship and personal development. Being on-call is HARD. And even though I always say, we CAN do hard things, I honestly didn’t want to start my own parenting journey in that way if I didn’t have to.. And nope not pregnant yet, but it is of course in our plans.
SO, here I am, back in Sweden, With my amazingly supportive husband. I am working with the same population, but in a different way in a hospital setting, and even though it’s been a very difficult transition, I am finally settling in and feeling more and more like this was the right decision. My husband Berk and I worked with several clients together in Portland through our businesses and hope to do the same now in Sweden, him covering the training and strength part - and me covering the emotional and supportive part. We love working together and are finally starting to settle into Malmö. Although I am fluent in Swedish, I love to teach and speak in English, hopefully Berk will learn Swedish soon and be able to offer his knowledge in both languages, but luckily no rush, it seems more common that everyone is speaking English everywhere we go here in Malmö now! Anyways, just wanted to say I am back and will be updating here more frequently for those who want to follow along!
